Hi! Ghergich & Co.’s A.J. Ghergich is back. This will be our third video, and it will focus on the SEO Ideas tool. This is the helper you’ve been waiting for to show you where your SEO efforts should be focused. Today, we’ll look into Content Concepts, especially on-page ideas, as well as Ideas for a Strategy and SERP features. Let’s get started!
Let’s have a look at some strategy suggestions. If you’re not sure how any of these modules function, just mouse over them in the Overview tab and a thorough explanation will appear. It’s possible that your strategy ideas may not function exactly as you want. Its true purpose is to show you where you’re cannibalizing yourself – or, at the very least, your search results.
Take a look at these two concepts, for example. This is about keyword or page cannibalism, as you’ll see.
This term appears in two separate locations – 13th and 14th – but has two different URLs.
As an SEO, you must now determine whether to use a single 301 redirect, ban Google from one view, or emphasize internal linking to one view over the other. You may just make use of canonical tags. There are several options available to you in order to correct this situation. It’s all too easy to compete against oneself, especially if you have a huge site.
As a consequence, Strategy Ideas is primarily concerned with avoiding the cannibalism of your own outcomes. And this is a fantastic tool for correcting it.
Let’s return to landing pages for a while. I’d want to investigate Content Concepts. Because here is where you’ll obtain your on-page optimization keyword placement, content length, readability ratings, and other such things, this is the “bread and butter” of the SEO Ideas toolbox.
As you can see, there are already a plethora of page ideas in this document. What I do now is go to Organic Research and Pages, enter the domain, and sort it by keywords. And I’m searching for sites that have a lot of promise.
And it’s like, “Holy cow!” straight away. Take a look at this! The Science Center, for example, has over 4,000 keywords in Google’s top 100… which is crazy!
If I click on this, you’ll see that the vast majority of them land in the 50 to 100 range. There aren’t 4,000 top-10 lists. The second thing you’ll notice is that they’re usually organized around scientific fairs, projects, and experiments, such as 2nd-grade science fair experiments, 4th-grade science fair experiments, 6th-grade science fair experiments, and so on. Normally, I would take a large number of these keywords and upload them to SEO Ideas. I’ve already done that, but you could import it if you wanted to.
You have many options: you may manually import, use Search Console, or use SEMrush’s database. Importing may be done in a variety of ways. However, since I’ve already done it, you can see the pages here – and I’ve added 31 keywords – and I now have four particular ideas.
When you click on those suggestions, you’ll see that the keywords aren’t in the body — they’re completely absent. You’ll see what I mean if you click on Detailed Analysis: Projects for 4th grade science fairs and 5th grade science experiments So “grades” and “projects” and “experiments” are all thrown about when it comes to “science fairs” and similar events.
You’ll notice that they don’t use them at all in the My column. And if you look at your competitors, you’ll see that they’re not doing it either. So the competitors’ average is in the top ten — there isn’t much use with the rivals.
As a result, I believe Energizer is missing out on a huge opportunity. With this page, they have the potential for 4,000 keywords. I’d make subfolders for each grade and then folders for each grade with project folders. You would have acceptable experiments for a 4th-grade science project if you had a 4th-grade section. And I believe that if they did so, they would be able to reduce a significant amount of traffic. So here is the true potential of the SEO Ideas toolkit. That’s why I always refer to it as a helper. Because, after all, you can’t be everywhere and everything to everyone, can you?
Features of the SERPs
Let’s move on to the following section: SERP Features. We go to the SERP features and click on them. This is very new, and I’m really excited about it since it’s all about SERP features.
This was the result I was looking at: AAAA batteries. First and foremost, since I was unaware that such a thing existed, and it piqued my attention. When you search for ‘AAAA batteries,’ you’ll see that many of the major retailers – Best Buy, Walmart, and Home Depot – have star ratings.
However, they do not appear in Energizer’s own findings. They don’t have any ratings.
If you click on the suggestion here, SEMrush will notify you that you don’t have any stars (review stars) while others have.
That’s fantastic; it’s becoming increasingly tiny so you don’t have to. Bringing attention to something that is a simple remedy but would be difficult to discover on your own.
